We are always on the lookout for honest, reliable individuals who share our passion for animals.  Would you like to join our team as a Pet Care Specialist?  This opportunity is perfect for individuals who are students, homemakers, retired, and anyone who would like to earn money while expressing their love for animals on an as-needed basis.   

Job Description:

Associates can provide any of the following services for our company: in-the-clients-home house/pet sitting, private dog walking, overnight in-the-clients-home house/petsitting, doggie daycare in employee's (your) home,  overnight boarding/care in employee's (your) home on a limited basis, pet-taxi, and waste pick-up. We would also like to offer pet grooming and training services in the future; therefore, we would welcome contact from individuals that have such experience.  The work schedule varies depending on the clients' needs and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekdays, weekends and holidays. Be sure to review our entire website to gain more insight into what we do.  All associates are hired as part-time employees who work on an as-needed basis.

Associates are informed of the job particulars and rate of pay before accepting each job assignment.  Acceptance of each assignment is optional, but employees are expected to follow through with each accepted assignment and provide professional, on-time service that meets or exceeds our established level of excellence.  We understand that life is uncertain and scheduling conflicts due arise.  An acceptable number of such instances will be forgiven if the employee informs us as soon as he/she is aware of the scheduling conflict; however, No-shows and/or excessive tardiness will not be tolerated and will result in immediate termination. 

Full background checks are made on all pet care candidates, and may also be asked to submit to a drug test.  All employees will be expected to complete the American Red Cross Pet First Aid course as soon as employment begins.

Qualifications:

  • must possess a passion for animals and commitment to consistently providing excellent service
  • must complete the American Red Cross Pet First Aid & CPR course 
  • must be at least 21 years old
  • high school diploma or equivalent (some college or undergraduate degree preferred)
  • minimum three (3) years customer service (pet care a +)
  • minimum three (3) years experience with animals (this can include raising your own pets)
  • excellent communication, follow up, and time management skills
  • reliable transportation
  • Internet access
